Other than new models from a few companies, what's the hot stuff this year? Brakes are Brakes, shifters are shifters, gears are gears. How about a frame material lighter, stronger, and more expensive than carbon fiber? Or a trend to return to the basic materials of traditional cycling- a custom made steel frame, or Huffy's proprietary lead/aluminum mix tubes?

Was it narrower tires or fatter tires that UCI now allows? I thought narrower, like 32. That should force a few more dismounts in the sand that was hauled in for some of the races.
UCI is also allowing recumbent bikes in all races...
