Informal Cyclocross at Oak Flat on Dec 13, 1:30PM
Oak flat course will be mostly open and fast, and a cross bike should be preferable. I will keep them fairly mellow with no psycho long runs. There are a few rolling hills, and about 1/4 of the course is paved. Course is senic up in the Ponderosa Pine forest. I am big on senic courses. There may be a some mud and snow in spots.
If it is really cold or snowy we will use the Sunnyslope Course. Check here before heading out to be sure.
Cycocross will run for about an hour. This is a practice session and not an official race. It is not sancioned by the USAC and is riders ride voluntalily and at their own risk. This was a kind of last minute idea and there was not time to get paperwork done.
All riders start together at 1:30 pm for a group neutral lap, then do some fast laps after.
Directions: On NM337 (old South 14) go south from Tijeras about 9 miles to Oak Flat Rd, go left. Go about 1 mi, past Oak Flat Picnic Area to a wide spot on the road about 300ft beyond the picnic area enterance. Start and parking will be there.
