Getting into cyclocross. Bought a Slingshot frame. Have Campy Centaur parts and wheels from road bike. Looking for recommendations for tires, fork, and brakes. Thanks
Any cantilever style brakes are great, even the ones that tech snobs hate are still good. Well, maybe the ones on that WalMart bike are bad. Frame and fork will determine what you can use. Disc brakes would be great also, the frame and fork has to be disc compatible. I guess some folks are passionate about disc brakes being a bad thing in cross. Some folks don't like chocolate either.
With tires, lighter is good, with a decent tread. The average size is usually obvious when you look at sources, bike shops, etc.
Carbon forks seem to be the standard material lately. Get one to match your brake idea.
The slingshot will be an interesting ride. Not much suspension shows up at CX events.
