I am going to ride in race #8 & 9 up in Taos and want to know if a CX is possible on the hill climb?

A cx bike should work fine for the hillclimb. However, the return to the base will require a little more speed control than an mtb. I'd do it on my singlecross, but I don't have the gear option necessary for that climb.
